Contact us any time to learn more about confidential TB testing!
Tuberculosis (TB) skin testing is a standard procedure for healthcare professionals and individuals who work with small children, and First Choice proudly offers discreet and confidential testing at our southwest Little Rock location. Some professionals are accustomed to being tested annually, but you might not know quite what to expect if you’re taking a TB skin test for the first time. But you’ll be in great hands from the moment you arrive, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn that it’s a quick and easy process!
We’re proud to be Arkansas’ most trusted third-party administrator, and we keep a Medical Review Officer (MRO) on staff to ensure the accuracy of all testing results. Our lab is located at 6400 Scott Hamilton Drive (Interstate 30 Exit 134), and we’re open from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. CDT. You can take your test any weekday except Thursday, with no appointment needed!
Tuberculosis infections are caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and common symptoms include a cough that lasts over three weeks, fevers, chills, night sweats, and rapid weight loss. TB tests are typically required annually for people who work with small children or the immunocompromised; they’re also strongly recommended for international travelers and individuals caring for aging relatives in their homes.
Infected Individuals don’t always become sick or display symptoms, but latent TB infections (LTBIs) can be contagious and spread to others. Fortunately, a TB skin test is an easy and hassle-free process that requires two short visits to our clinic. During your first visit, we’ll inject a small amount of testing solution into your forearm with a very small needle. You’ll need to return to the clinic in 48-72 hours to have the test “read,” and we’ll provide you with proof of a negative test on the spot!
Our staff members are committed to professionalism and legendary customer service, and we encourage you to contact us if you have any additional questions. To learn more about TB skin tests or any of our other Arkansas lab testing services, contact us online or at 501-661-9992.
