As a business owner or manager, you’re responsible for protecting company assets and operating a safe, efficient, and drug-free workplace. Individuals who use illegal drugs are more likely to miss work, steal, or be involved in a workplace accident, and our team at First Choice is always happy to help you develop a drug-free workplace policy and review your testing options. We offer urinalysis testing during regular business hours with no appointment necessary, and our team members all share our commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and legendary service. An increasing number of companies are also now making the switch to oral fluid drug testing for several excellent reasons!
We’re proud to be Arkansas’ most trusted third-party administrator, and we offer every conceivable lab test at our southwest Little Rock testing center. Urinalysis testing is the most commonly used testing method, and we can get most donors in and out in 30 minutes or less. Still, there are a few significant drawbacks to using conventional urine testing after a workplace accident or in reasonable suspicion testing. If an employee appears to be under the influence, he or she will have to be driven to our facility for testing; until they return, you’ll have two fewer employees at work. Urinalysis and hair testing also only test for drugs that have been digested and processed, and might not detect more recent activity. Oral fluid testing is more effective at detecting recent use, enabling employers to assess what’s currently in the donor’s system when the specimen is collected.
The testing kits are easy to use and require no special training. Additionally, the testing procedures eliminate gender-based collection issues and potential invasions of privacy. Supervisors can collect saliva samples from the donor under direct supervision, and you’ll get your initial results in as few as 5-10 minutes. You can choose to send in all samples or only non-negatives to our lab for confirmation, and we keep a Medical Review Officer (MRO) on staff to verify all testing results.
