Coming in for a drug test? Here’s what to expect!

There’s nothing quite like getting a great new job offer, and the pre-employment drug test is the final step you’ll have to take before you can begin work. If you’ve never taken a drug test before, you might not know what to expect, but you’ll be in good hands from the moment you walk through the front door at First Choice!
We’re Arkansas’ most trusted third-party administrator, and we keep a Medical Review Officer (MRO) on staff to verify the accuracy of all test results. Most importantly, we typically deliver testing results within 1-2 business days, so you can get started at your new job right away. People with nothing to hide have nothing to worry about, and our team members all share our commitment to professionalism and legendary customer service. Here are a few frequently asked questions, and we’re always a phone call away if you don’t see the answer to your specific question below:
When can I test? Our testing center is located at 6400 Scott Hamilton Drive (exit 134 off Interstate 30), and we’re open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You never need an appointment, and testing typically takes 15 minutes or less (you might experience slightly longer wait times if you show up at lunchtime).
What do I need to bring with me? You’ll need to present a current photo ID and drug testing paperwork upon arrival, and you will be required to sign a collection protocol form at check-in. The testing process will officially begin once we take you back for your test, and you won’t be allowed to leave until testing is complete.
What happens if I can’t go? You’ll need to be prepared to void approximately 0.45ml (2 ounces), and it’s very important to arrive properly hydrated. No outside food or drink is allowed in our testing center, and we’re only allowed to provide up to 40 ounces of water after your first attempt to void is unsuccessful. We’re prepared to give you up to 3 hours per DOT protocol, but please note that leaving the testing center without providing a sample is considered a refusal to test, with the same consequences as a positive result.
